Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes.

Jill Jacobs Therapy was founded to reduce the barriers that people often face when seeking mental health services.  For this reason, I aim to provide services in network for all major insurance providers.

Currently, I provide in-network counseling services to those located in DC and VA under most insurance plans, including: Aetna,  Carefirst, Cigna, Optum, Oscar Health, Oxford, and United Healthcare.

  • The cost of each session depends on your insurance provider and plan.  For a more detailed cost breakdown, please contact your insurance provider directly.  Estimated costs can be provided by the online platforms I use for therapy services (see below).

  • Each session costs $150 per therapeutic hour (roughly 55 minutes) for those who do not wish or are unable to use an insurance provider.

  • Currently, all client documentation and billing is managed through the online platforms Headway and SonderMind (depending on client location and insurance provider) and all sessions take place on a HIPAA-compliant teletherapy platform called Doxy.me.

  • Each 50-minute consultation costs $125.  These services are not reimbursed by insurance (as no diagnosis is provided) and, therefore, are only available as out-of-pocket services.

  • Clinical supervision is available for $90 per one-hour meeting or for $50 per half-hour meeting.

  • I work with people of all ages! I have experience working with people 3-70 years old, and I am currently providing teletherapy for people ages 10+.

  • Yes! As a Registered Play Therapy Supervisor (RPT-S), I am able to provide supervision for those seeking credentialing as a Registered Play Therapist (RPT).
